The Aqara Smart Lock U400 Kit is among the first smart locks to feature Apple UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology. It detects when you approach, allowing your iPhone or Apple Watch to act as a hands-free Apple Home Key, unlocking your door without the need to tap or enter codes.

With Matter over Thread, the U400 integrates seamlessly with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and other Matter-compatible platforms, delivering stable and reliable performance across ecosystems.

You can also use the Apple Home Key via NFC on your iPhone or Apple Watch. Supported devices function even when powered off thanks to Power Reserve, and you can securely share remote keys or generate time-limited guest codes.

Apple Home Key offers two modes:

Express Mode – quick tap to unlock
Secure Mode – requires Face ID or Passcode for enhanced protection

The Aqara U400 comes with a high-precision 160 × 160-pixel fingerprint sensor for fast and reliable recognition. Unlock your door in just 0.3 seconds with up to 98.6% accuracy and an extremely low false acceptance rate (<0.0001%). You can securely store up to 50 fingerprints, all protected with on-device AES encryption for maximum privacy.

In emergencies, you can unlock your door using a USB-C power bank or compatible phone, so you’re never left locked out.

The Aqara U400 automatically locks when the door closes, thanks to its built-in gyroscope. Control it easily via the Aqara app, Action Button, or voice commands. Activate Do Not Disturb mode to lower volume and mute non-essential notifications for a quieter home.

Set up smart automations—like turning on lights, AC, or cameras—when the door unlocks. It also works seamlessly with the Video Doorbell G410, letting you see visitors and unlock the door in one smooth step.

Paired with the Aqara M100 Hub, the U400 becomes a Matter Controller, giving you remote access for locking/unlocking, adding temporary passwords, and monitoring battery and lock status via the app. The hub also enables advanced automations and Matter integrations across your smart home ecosystem.
